I lose track of my glasses more often than I would like to admit. They end up on the edge of the desk, on top of a stack of papers, halfway under a keyboard, anywhere except somewhere sensible, and half the time I only notice they are missing when I actually need them. A holder is only useful if it is somewhere you will actually look, which is why this one is designed to stick to whatever metal surface is already within reach, a filing cabinet, a lamp base, the side of a PC case, rather than adding yet another object competing for space on the desk itself.
The compact footprint was a deliberate choice too. A lot of eyeglass holders on the market are bulky stands meant to sit in the open, but this one is meant to disappear against whatever it is stuck to, small enough that it does not look out of place next to a monitor or a shelf. The magnetic cleaning-cloth knob came out of the same thinking: if the cloth has its own dedicated spot right next to the glasses, it stops disappearing into a drawer between cleanings.

Once it is stuck in place, it genuinely changes the habit: instead of setting the glasses down wherever is convenient in the moment, there is a specific, obvious spot they belong, and that is usually enough to break the cycle of misplacing them in the first place.

The three 6x3 mm magnets are sized to be strong enough to hold the weight of a pair of glasses reliably, without being so strong that removing them becomes a two-handed effort every time. If you print it for a heavier pair of glasses, or for something bulkier like sunglasses with a thick frame, it is worth sizing up the magnets slightly rather than assuming the same three will hold any weight.
